Uprooted:

This series is a reflection of my move from New York to Los Angles.  So many folks were amazed that I just picked up and move to Los Angeles.  I did not understand the amazement, until I was done moving in. 

It is one of the bigger hurtles in life.  To wake up in a different place with all the same furnishings was amazing.  I started doubting my move with-in weeks of living here. 

I reminded myself of the Art and of the new people in my life and the new connections and opportunities. 

Overall though I wanted to express the pain of the move, knowing full well I would grow out of it.  So I started a self portrait and designed it to be cut in half.  One piece for New York the other Los Angeles, as I was feeling very divided. 

The paintings are all representing my emotional states and being.

Each piece is embellished with acrylic glazes, while they all will have a similiar feel, they are all unique, due to the dripping glazing process.
