About:
I love portraiture. I love using portraits to express feelings and tell stories. My artwork is digitally based. I paint/draw using a mouse on the computer. I do not click a button and WHA-LA.. I actually get to zoom in pretty close and get to the details, because that is where God is! (I love that saying, “God is in the details” a quote by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, first architect to build a steel/glass skyscraper. Seagram bldg. NY 1956.)
I print on canvas and then allow the magic to continue. I use glazes (which is a clear medium some times mixed with pigments.) in a many layer process, until I achieve the visual feeling I desire. Layers can range from 3 to my highest of 17 layers.
My Artwork is not colorized photos, it is incredible DETAILS. Taking the time to draw many different little shapes until it forms into the person in the portrait.
How my portraits work for collecting. They are all Unique, because I personally am hand glazing them. So in the world of Fine Art the best one is the First one, and against my reps wishes, I sell the first one to the first person to purchase from a series. I know Giclee process has it’s fans and it’s doubters. All I can say is that every one frowned with Silk Screening in the beginning, and there is not one single image that is an original. It goes by which one was produced first..
So start collecting people… or just remember my name so you can tell your grand kids, I knew of Curry Mendes before he made it, to bad I did not have the vision then .. that I do now, he is amazing!
